Nihilista Magazine - Offend To Defend Music and Arts News and Reviews

It's a Barbie world, in a Barbie town!

The Barbie doll is 50 years old this year and to celebrate Barbie's perfect birthday, perfect body and perfect world she is about
to become real, for real as Universal Pictures strike a deal with Barbie's earth family Mattel to produce the first Barbie movie.
"Barbie is the most famous doll in history, a unique cultural icon in the world of brands" said Universal Pictures Chairman Marc Shmuger. "So
many representations of Barbie frequent pop culture, but never before has she been brought to life in a motion picture"
Further details on the film, including casting have yet to be announced, though we wonder if Barbie's dialogue will include lines
from the talking dolls vocabulary - 'Will we ever have enough clothes', 'I love shopping' or the rather canny 'Math class is tough'.
Nihilista and Redemption want to know.
