Best selling horror novelist Stephen King has announced a new series of graphic novels based on his fantasy book ‘The Talisman’, which was originally released as a collaborative work with Peter Straub back in 1984. The first installment ‘The Road of Trials’ is available from 20th October and is the first of four six-issue miniseries from Del Ray Comics. ‘Road of Trials’ writer Robin Furth is also working on the next part of the Dark Tower graphic series and it is no coincidence that Furth is working on both publications; fans and critics alike have often drawn comparisons between King’s epic Dark Tower novels and it’s predecessor The Talisman, as has King himself. ‘Dark tower: The Gunslinger’ is expected in 2010.
